3 Easy Ways to Decorate Your Small Balcony
Decorating a small balcony can be a challenge. Balconies come in all sorts of shapes, whether you live in an apartment or you reside in a home with a compact second-floor outdoor space. Recently, we are working out some decor plans purely for the balcony, since balcony was probably the least focused area in our home. We've been looking for decorating ideas in order to create a visually appealing balcony. Today, we've gathered a few ideas for you, hopefully these ideas will help you to enjoy the fresh air, a morning coffee, or relax time in rainy afternoons. Your ideal balcony is only three steps away:
A small balcony doesn't mean you can't have furniture. If you are lucky enough, you can place a small (lightweight) bistro set. In addition, some cushion are the perfect complement. Another great ideas to maximize the space is to use folding chairs or tables. You can keep the chairs against the wall when you're not using it. When selecting materials for the furniture, there are many options to choose from, including wood, metal, or plastic. Just make sure you find outdoor fabrics that won't fade away or grow mildew easily, easy to clean and water resistant.
2. Add Greenery
The key to creating an amazing outdoor spaces are bring the natural beauty. We can achieve this look with adding a dash of greens like fresh flower or artificial plants. Try to layering a variety of plants or combine them. At some point, we are thinking about having a lush green carpeting using artificial grass. It's so versatile, you can use with some creative ways. Basically, don't be afraid to make some colors with plants. Below we can see some of planter design, in whichever way you like it the most (place on the wall, on shelves or hang them). It's so lively and refreshing!
3. Outdoor Lighting
Lighting can set the mood of a space and can be a great addition to your balcony. We have a small crush on lantern at the moment. Lanterns (with or without candles) are perfect pieces for outdoor and (also) indoor decor. Yay! If you aren't looking for a traditional lantern, you can use any decorative lamps or string light to create a lovely atmosphere at night.
Well, we end our post with a reminder that when it comes to decorate a balcony, please don't get caught up in mind that your space is too small to enjoy. Some people say, because on a balcony, every square inch counts and you can put anything you like in the balcony. With a little bit of work and creativity, a bare balcony can really transform into a favorite place. Happy decorating! :)
